The largest working printing museum in Scandinavia is to be found in Helsingborg. This is how the museum describes itself:
"One of the key factors behind the success of the Helsingborg Printing Museum is that it is a working museum.
Visitors experience a unique atmosphere of yesteryear: the feel and smell of the traditional lead types, the clattering noise of the typesetting machines as the matrices are resorted into their boxes, the rhythmic pulse of a printing press as the ink is transferred to the paper.
The final stage of this magic process can be seen in the bookbinder’s workshop where skilled craftworkers apply finishing touches to books both large and small."

Here are some pictures from the museum, which is well worth a visit:
Catastrophes, wars, terrorism, ecological disasters, deadly diseases, poverty .... The list of tragedies - both personal and public - is endless. Every day and hour media, politicians, experts - and charlatans - bring us a never ending barrage of bad things. No wonder that many people feel depressed and weary. This blog tries - in a modest and personal way - to contribute to a more balanced view. After all, there is so much to appreciate and enjoy in life ...
