Midsummer music in Scandinavia

W. Åhlén´s "Summer psalm" is here beautifully sung by the Koritsia choir of Lund, Sweden

Today we have celebrated Midsummer day in Scandinavia. This beautiful summer psalm, by the Swedish composer Waldemar Åhlén is among my own favourite summer music, to be enjoyed during the almost nightless Nordic summer days ....

A busy day for ships

Sometimes it a little bit congested in the Øresund shipping lanes. Tonight these three rather different vessels shared the same space. The small freighter Naven (89 m) was on its way to Gruvön with a load of timber and the Coast Guard was probably keeping an eye on what was happening in this part of the Sound ....

A schooner passing

This beautiful schooner sailed through the Sound on Monday night. Unfortunately I missed the name of the boat. Let´s hope that it will return, so that I can find out.

PS

I add a photo of  Pearl Seaways, here passing Kronborg Castle in Helsingør, last night:

The Costa Atlantica in Øresund

The weather has been rather unstable in the Øresund region during the last few days. However, last night there was a brief spell of evening sunshine, when the beautiful Costa Atlantica (293x34 m) passed on its way from Copenhagen to Flåm in Norway. There is accomodation for 2680 passengers on the ship.

PS

I could not resist adding this shot I took a couple of  days earlier when the Danish owned Pearl Seaways passed on its ordinary route to Oslo:
