Icebreaking mega yacht Legend in Öresund

The Class 1 ice-breaking ship Legend, built in 1973, has this year been converted into a charter yacht "capable of carrying 26 guests in total luxury".

The stern of the now 77.3 m long ship has been extended by 3.6 meters and is equipped with a swimming pool.

Legend also has a commercially certified helicopter landing pad and a submarine is stored in a garage on the forward deck. Among the other niceties on board one could mention a gym, a Balinese spa with sauna, Jacuzzi and beauty salon, a movie theatre and a medical suite.

This summer Legend is available for charters in northern Europe for  503.00 USD a week. (The helicopter and the submarine will come at an additional cost).

Pictures from Torekov

Torekov on the Bjäre Peninsula is still a fishing village, but today it is primarily known as a popular summer resort. When I visited Torekov yesterday, it did not rain, but it was windy, with dark skies:

The classic Swedish clipper Atene in Öresund

This afternoon the classic Swedish clipper ship Atene was on its way southward in Öresund. I shot these two pictures of Atene, with Hamlet´s Kronborg castle and Helsingør in the background:

Atene, which was built in Denmark in 1909, has had many owners. The ship is now owned and beautifully restored by an association in Swedish Skärhamn. You can read more about the ship here:

(The info is for the time being only in Swedish, but I´m certain that the people in charge will be more than happy to reply to your inquiries also in English)
