A Great Tit Eating

There have been quite a few images of birds in this blog recently - and here are some more:

Hello, photographer!

Sunflower seeds are my favourites.

Just resting for a second.

A Blue Tit and a Great Tit in my Garden this Morning

The cold winter weather makes it difficult for birds to find something to eat in the nearby nature reserve. Many of them choose to taste the food on offer in my garden. For me they give a nice opportunity to take pictures through my living room window:

A blue tit with a tasty snack this morning.

A great tit has also found something to eat.

In Praise of BBC Radio 3

Thank God, there is still one BBC network, where you can hear English spoken beautifully - the (mainly) Classical music and opera station BBC Radio 3. Of course, the wonderful music on Radio 3 is the main "thing", but it is an added bonus for listeners to get to hear properly spoken English between the musical offerings.

Internet radio makes it possible to listen to this great station anywhere in the world. I have for years now had my internet radio wake me up to the musical morning programmes on BBC Radio 3. I can't think of a better way to begin my day!

BBC Radio 3 broadcasts all BBC Proms concerts live and in full. This imageis from
last years Last Night of the Proms, with mezzo soprano Joyce DiDonato and
conductor Marin Alsop.

Another image from last year's Last Night of the Proms.

Hopefully they allow BBC 3 to stay as it is; a high quality station for those who enjoy good music - and good English!

Tanker Dubai Attraction on its way to Houston

The Dubai Attraction was late this afternoon going northwards Øresund on its way to Houston. The fairly new ship (built in 2011) is one of the largest tankers (250 m x 44 m) I have seen in the Sound recently:

A lady blackbird in my garden

This time of the year various birds are a nice addition in my small garden. My small food offering hopefully makes their visits a little more enjoyable. At least this lady blackbird seemed to enjoy the meal early this morning:

Blue tits are other frequent visitors this time of the year. This straight looking one was about to enjoy breakfast this morning:

Views from my balcony (24): A January morning picture

A typical January morning with just a little snow on the ground:

Two Tree Sparrows in My Garden

This morning these two tree sparrows visited my garden (and were rewarded with some winter food):
