Autumn colours in the Sofiero palace park and garden:
Catastrophes, wars, terrorism, ecological disasters, deadly diseases, poverty .... The list of tragedies - both personal and public - is endless. Every day and hour media, politicians, experts - and charlatans - bring us a never ending barrage of bad things. No wonder that many people feel depressed and weary. This blog tries - in a modest and personal way - to contribute to a more balanced view. After all, there is so much to appreciate and enjoy in life ...

Dark skies over Öresund and Denmark
Yesterday, when I visited Bjärred - a former seaside resort, close to Malmö - dark skies on the Danish side of Öresund dominated the view:

The Marienlyst hotel in Helsingør
I can see Hotel Casino Marienlyst on the Danish side of Öresund from my living room every day (except on very foggy days). A couple of days ago I took the ferry to Helsingør in order to have a closer look:

| Hotel Marienlyst is beautifully located on the waterfront. |

| Immediately to the north of the hotel there are many beautiful private villas. |
