In the summer of 1952 the German-Finnish photographer Volker von Bonin took this picture of his wife Gisela and their (I presume) NSU Fox bike. The original photo - here with my colorization - is in the Helsinki city museum collection (N210732).

Every day and hour media, politicians, experts - and charlatans - bring us a never ending barrage of bad things. No wonder that many people feel depressed and weary. This blog tries - in a modest and personal way - to contribute to a more balanced view. After all, there is so much to appreciate and enjoy in life ...

The cargo ketch Nordlys in Öresund
The cargo ketch Nordlys in Öresund last night:
"Nordlys sails without an engine and is possibly the worlds oldest cargo ship (1873) still working. Nordlys operates in the European coastal trade. Originally built as a fishing trawler, she has been refitted and is able to carry a maximum of 30 tons of wine, olive oil, cider or other goods."

1962 BMW 700 Sport Cabriolet
A 1962 BMW 700 Sport M1 Cabriolet - one of 2400 built (1962 - 1965) and the only one in Sweden. The car was designed by Giovanni Michelotti, who also designed 17 Ferrari and 6 Maserati models. The bodywork of this 2 cylinder 49 hp model was made by Bauer.
