A private maritime museum in Viken

Two old buildings in Viken have been beautifully restored in

 order to accommodate a private maritime museum: 

The National Theatre in Helsinki (1902)

The new Finnish National Theatre building was inaugurated on April 9, 1902. Soon after the inauguration the Swedish monthly Ord och Bild published this photograph (here coloured by me) of the new theatre.

Some additional info on the theatre:

The Finnish National Theatre (Finnish: Suomen Kansallisteatteri), established in 1872, is a theatre located in central Helsinki on the northern side of the Helsinki Central Railway Station Square. The Finnish National Theatre is the oldest Finnish speaking professional theatre in Finland. It was known as the Finnish Theatre until 1902, when it was renamed the Finnish National Theatre.

For the first thirty years of its existence, the theatre functioned primarily as a touring company. The theatre did not acquire a permanent home until 1902, when a purpose-built structure was erected in the heart of Helsinki, adjacent to the city's main railway station. The building hosting the Finnish National Theatre today was completed in 1902 and designed by architect Onni Tarjanne in the National Romantic style, inspired by romantic nationalism. The Helsingborg Crematorium

The Crematorium in Helsingborg from 1929 in an architectural gem. It was designed by the Swedish architect Ragnar Östberg, who is perhaps most well known as the man behind Stockholm´s magnificent city hall.

The Ceremonial hall by architects Dan Rahmqvist and
Uffe Nilsson is a newer addition.

The gilded angel is by sculptor Ragnhild Schlyter.

The St. Petri church in Klippan - An architectural masterpiece by Lewerentz

The St. Petri (St. Peter´s) church  in Klippan - an architectural masterpiece - was designed by Sigurd Lewerentz (1885 - 1975) and opened in 1966.

Houses in Hittarp in "Christmas dress"

On my evening walk tonight I shot these pictures of some of my favourite houses here in Hittarp. This time of the year Christmas lighting is a nice additional feature. (On the fourth picture you can see that it started to drizzle, before I was able to cover the lens.)

 

 

 

 

PS

I added this somewhat strange picture. I think it would have been really nice, but then something happened - exactly what, I cannot say. Maybe I touched on button on my camera, which I should not have done. However, I could pretend that the additional light is a new kind of Chinese Christmas lighting! :-)
