The St. Mary´s church in Helsingborg
The medieval St. Mary´s church in Danish brick Gothic style is one of the oldest buildings in Helsingborg.
Until 1658 Scania (Skåne) and Helsingborg were Danish, and St Mary’s church was originally the largest city church in Denmark. It is laid out as a three-knave basilica, with an elevated central knave. The famous composer Dieterich Buxtehude worked as an organist at St Mary’s Church in the 1600s.
