The ship was was launched in Kiel in 1921 as the Magdalene Vinnen II

The Russian sail training vessel STS Sedov (formerly the Magdalene Vinnen II and Kommodore Johnsen) passed Helsingør/Helsingborg this morning at 11.06 on its way to Cuxhaven. The 115x14m  4-masted steel barque was for almost 80 years the largest traditional sailing ship in operation.

Ducks in the Krapperup castle park

The afternoon sun gave a nice golden glow to the pond

Better enjoy it now - soon there may be ice on this pond

These ducks were clearly enjoying the glorious October weather this afternoon in their home pond, which is part of the historic Krapperup castle park, close to the Kulla national park in Scania.

"Dein ist mein ganzes Herz" with Fritz Wunderlich

"Dein ist mein ganzes Herz" ("Yours is my entire heart") from the operetta Das Land des Lächelns (The Land of Smiles) has probably become the most popular of all of Franz Lehar´s songs. And, well performed - as here, with the great Fritz Wunderlich - it is definitively a song to brighten up a dark and windy autumn day.

Samson - a powerful heavy lift vessel in Øresund

If you need to lift something really heavy in or close to the sea - this is it: The Samson heavy marine lift, here seen close to Helsingborg/Helsingør this morning on its way from Landskrona to Aarhus.

The 67x27m Samson´s crane has a sailing height of 41m. The vessel is operated by the Danish Salvage&Towing Company DBB.

PS

Just for comparison, here is a Swedish heavy lift from 1920:
