Another busy day for cruise ships in Øresund. Unfortunately, it was a hazy day, which made it difficult to get decent quality pictures.
This is AIDAcara, the first cruise ship in the fleet of German cruise company AIDA Cruises. The 193.3 m ship entered the Helsingborg/Helsingør area at about 5 A.M. this morning on its way to Copenhagen. There are beds for 1186 passengers and the crew number is 360. The ship was launched in 1996 under the name Das Clubschiff.
Last night this beautiful schooner passed my place on its way northwards. I was regrettable not able to get the name of the ship. However, a sailing ship of this size actually sailing, is always a mighty sight.
Catastrophes, wars, terrorism, ecological disasters, deadly diseases, poverty .... The list of tragedies - both personal and public - is endless. Every day and hour media, politicians, experts - and charlatans - bring us a never ending barrage of bad things. No wonder that many people feel depressed and weary. This blog tries - in a modest and personal way - to contribute to a more balanced view. After all, there is so much to appreciate and enjoy in life ...

Harvesting wheat in the U.S. in the early 1920´s
I found this photo in an old picture book that I have in my library. It shows how wheat was harvested somewhere in the U.S. in the early 20´s. 33 mules! - not bad!
